Celebrating Black History Month

One of the key pillars within the framework for our Diversity & Inclusion initiatives at IMAX is to raise awareness, elevate representative voices, and educate our IMAX community on issues and cultural observances that are important and meaningful to so many of us. Black History Month officially began in the USA in 1976, however the first celebrations of African American contributions began much earlier in 1926. Today February is dedicated to acknowledging these contributions and celebrating Black Excellence in the USA and Canada, and is now also recognized during the month of October in Ireland, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. Below we have compiled a library of resources we hope you find informative, inspiring, and empowering.
